Description
The CD4026 is a CMOS Decade Counter and 7-Segment Display Driver IC. It is specially designed to count clock pulses and directly drive a common cathode 7-segment display without requiring a separate decoder IC. Unlike the CD4017, which provides 10 sequential outputs (Q0–Q9), the CD4026 automatically converts the count into the correct 7-segment pattern, allowing numbers 0 to 9 to be displayed directly on a 7-segment display. This makes it ideal for counters, digital clocks, scoreboards, and frequency meters.
